I don't know what made me decide to explore the bible again after having given up on it a few years ago, or how it came about, but explore it I suddenly felt compelled to do. After some research I settled on a colouring bible as I also like to be creative and thought this might really inspire me. Which it has indeed! When trying to think of a name for my blog I tried all sorts of things with the word Inspire, Journey, Bible etc in them but they were all unavailable. I never thought to use the words 'Inspire Praise' until I just typed it in fully expecting it to be taken, it wasn't so hence the name of my blog 'Inspire Praise': My Bible Reading Journey.
The Bible that has started my journey....
It is a lovely purple colour and is a very pretty bible, and has butterflies on the cover and sides which is always a winner for me.
I bought some Prismacolor pencils as I had read that they are a good colouring pencil to use in this bible.
I started reading Acts - My husband and I both challenged ourselves to read Acts and that was how it started.
I also got this to encourage me and give me ideas.
It also came with some useful book markers - I am sure there is a proper technical name for these - which I placed on the side.
Because this is going to be a 'working Bible/Journal' I wanted to be able to easily access the different books in the bible, and also not to be 'afraid' to mark in it.
The inside of the front cover is going to be quite a challenge to colour.
A nice dedication page.
Once I had finished reading Acts, I continued through the rest of the New Testament, and then went back to read the Gospels. Okay so not perhaps technically the right way to do it, but they were books I was less familiar with, so wanted to read those first, before I returned to read the Gospels.
A few of the pages I have started to colour:
At the moment I don't know how this blog will progress, but wanted somewhere to post pictures and write a little bit about My Bible Reading Journey.
